About Us

Karen Baker-Jepsen has worked in the public school system for over 17 years. As a middle school teacher, HR Unit Supervisor, State Reporting Manager, and as the current founder and CEO of ACR, public education has been at the forefront of her career. She is an adamant supporter of parental choice and believes that public education, whether in the charter school setting or in the traditional public school classroom should be of the highest caliber and teachers and students held to very high standards.

She loves to run, read, bike, and sail when she is not working. She has been married for almost 30 years and has four children and five grandchildren.

Shari Herrington has been with ACR for 4 years. She has held a variety of different jobs in the charter schools, giving her excellent experience in diverse areas. She believes that education can take place in a setting that allows students to choose a path that captivates their interest, all while preparing them for graduation and beyond.

She is currently finishing her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Phoenix. Between work and school, she likes to spend time with her husband and three children, and travel around the country to watch sports.

Carolyn Rideout has worked with ACR for five years as Business Manager. She holds an Advanced Certificate in Accounting, an AS in Business Administration, a BS in Emergency Services Administration and currently is pursuing her MAIS with concentrations which include Business and Psychology. She loves to run, bike and spend time with her husband of 25 years and two children.
